About
Semaphore is a Brooklyn-based, POC-led alternative rock band crafting emotionally charged songs that blur the lines between shoegaze, post-hardcore, and modern alternative rock. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate, Glassjaw, Deftones, and The Joy Formidable, the group balances soaring atmosphere with explosive dynamics, pairing shimmering textures and heavy guitars with deeply personal songwriting.
Their upcoming full-length album, Despite What You Say, explores the unraveling of a doomed relationship through the perspectives of two people who each see themselves as both hero and victim. Across the record, moments of intimacy, escapism, and self-discovery collide with ego, resentment, and denial, creating a narrative that steadily moves toward inevitable collapse.
Having spent years building a presence throughout Brooklyn and the East Coast, Semaphore has shared stages with acts including The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die and Hundredth, earning a reputation for passionate live performances and an ever-growing audience. With Despite What You Say completed and two additional EPs already recorded, the band enters its most ambitious chapter yet, with new singles arriving ahead of a planned album release in late 2026 or early 2027.
Semaphore continues to push its sound forward while remaining rooted in the emotional intensity and cathartic energy that define the band's identity.
